Inowrocław is the most important business centre in the region. Convenient geographical location, areas rich in culture and history as well as spa values of the town can attract both domestic and foreign investors. Moreover, local production potential, technological development, implementation of new solutions consistent with European standards as well as observing the rules of fair competition are the benefits that allow to perceive Inowrocław - based enterprises as reliable business partners.

The Development Strategy of Inowrocław for the years 2003-2013, accepted by the Town Council, provides for "sustainable social and economic development leading to the life quality enhancement of the citizens. Inowrocław is a modern spa town with developing economy, tourism, science and culture; it is a town worth living, working and studying in; it is a town with educated and open society, living in harmony with the natural environment".

The saline industry development was conducive for the economic development of the whole region. The following factories are based in Inowrocław: the "Solino" SA Inowrocław Salt Mine (belonging to the Orlen Group; the leader in salt and brine production), the "Soda Mątwy" SA Inowrocław Chemical Plants (belonging to the Ciech Capital Group; an important producer of calcinated salt, precipitated chalk, and calcium chloride), "Irena" SA Household Glass Factory (the biggest crystal producer in Poland) as well as "Inofama" SA (one of the largest Polish producers of machinery and equipment for farming, natural environment protection and building industry).

Building industry enterprises and those from related economy branches actively operate on the local market; these are "Alstal Budownictwo", "Budino", "Centrostal-Inowrocław", "Inremo", "Inter-Metal", "Instalbud", "Lematit", "Magorex", "Simbud", "Opak-Met" and "Inowrocławskie Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego".

Numerous printing houses operate in the town, such as "Pozkal" Pritning Enterprise, "Ekspres" Printing House, "Legro" company, "Druk Intro" SA and "Pol Print". Due to their presence, Inowrocław is called the Printing Valley.
